The 5+1 Internship Training Program is an initiative designed to equip Board-approved supervisors with the essential skills and knowledge needed to support provisional psychologists throughout their internship journey. Refresh your supervisory approach to working with provisional psychologists undertaking the 5+1 internship focussing on competency based models of supervision. This training program unpacks the specific tasks and assessable requirements of supervisees and considers how to manage challenges and pitfalls.Â

Looking to focus on skill-based learning and skip the peer consultation? Our Webinars Only option offers a curated selection of 13 webinars and resources, allowing you to learn at your own pace and on your schedule. Webinars and resources will be accessible for 12 months.Â

All in One Package
Complete all 7 modules at your own pace, with flexibility to choose either a 7-week or 7-month timeline. Each week or month, you'll work through one module, gaining access to exclusive webinars, resources, and 7 hours of consultation with one of Provisional Psychologist Hub's Directors and Board-Approved Supervisors. All of this is offered for one low fee, providing you with a complete and supportive learning experience. Webinars and resources will be accessible for 24 months.Â

Complete 7 modules with a flexible "pay-by-the-month, complete-by-the-month" option. Access exclusive webinars, resources, and 1 hour of consultation with a Director or Board-Approved Supervisor each month. Progress at your own pace with manageable monthly payments for 7 months, webinars and resources will be accessible for 24 months.Â

We’ve carefully curated the best of our internship-focused webinars and resources and combined them with seven 1-hour consultation sessions led by our most senior supervisors, Directors, and Board Approved Supervisors, Leza Sullivan and Susie Upton.
This comprehensive and flexible program has been developed by the owners and operators of Provisional Psychologist Hub. With an organisation managing a caseload of over 500 supervisees, there’s no better team to guide you through the processes involved in Australia’s only remaining internship pathway to achieve general registration as a psychologist.
Each module comprises one or more webinars, take the time to reflect and follow up with a one-hour individual board approved peer consultation designed to discuss, and consult and apply your newly acquired knowledge before progressing to the next module.

Module 2: Administrative Processes & Documentation
Gain essential knowledge of the documentation processes required in the 5+1 Internship Program, including PsyBA forms, logbooks, and supervisory responsibilities. This module equips you with the skills to navigate the program’s administrative tasks and ensures that you meet all necessary regulatory requirements. You’ll become proficient in reviewing, signing, and maintaining important documentation.

Module 3: Observation and Competence Assessment
Learn how to observe and assess your supervisees’ clinical practice with a focus on competency evaluation. This module prepares you to manage the assessment process effectively, ensuring accurate and fair evaluations. You’ll also practice stepping into the role of an assessor while maintaining supportive supervision.

Module 4: Feedback, Agenda Setting, and Case Report Review
Master the skills of providing clear, constructive feedback and managing supervision agendas. This module focuses on how to review case reports to assess competence while offering valuable feedback to your supervisees. You will also gain techniques for handling written feedback and case report assessments.

Module 5: Managing Challenges
This module prepares you to handle common interpersonal challenges that arise in supervision, from disengagement to performance issues. You will learn strategies for managing the demands of both the internship tasks and the role of the psychologist. Additionally, you’ll develop skills to handle difficult conversations with supervisees.

Module 6: Reporting
Learn how to complete and manage internship progress reports effectively, ensuring compliance with program requirements. This module will guide you through key forms, including the Change of Principal Supervisor form, and provide strategies to address challenges during report submissions. You’ll gain a clear understanding of the reporting process and its importance.
